Enriching Chinese Heritage Stories within the University of Regina Communities

This research proposes collecting more people’s stories from the University of Regina alumni and faculty members possessing Chinese legacies or connections. Extending the inquiries beyond the 1970s and earlier, I will revisit narratives with documentary evidence from communal societies and extended individuals with life stories connected to China. These voices, potentially exposed to various stereotypes and prejudices in identity politics, enrich cultural heritage shared by local communities and refresh collaborative effort for education internationalization. In 2011, the UR celebrated its 30 years partnership with China. Some still recall a few UR faculties played an active role in the Canada-China wheat trade in the late-1950s, later on, many farming collaboration projects. Such inquiries thus also address how to brand UR and attract members of Chinese heritage, locally and internationally.
