Rachid Bouksim

 

Rachid Bouksim is a journalist, community actor and artistic director of the Issni N’Ourgh International Amazigh Film Festival. He was born in Imstitn in Sidi Ifni (southern Morocco), where he completed his primary and secondary studies. He obtained his baccalaureate at the Lycée Bab Sahra in Goulmim. He completed university studies in the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Ibn Zohr University, Agadir, where he became one of the founders of the Amazigh university theater in Morocco. He has been member of the jury or of the organizing committee of several festivals in Morocco and abroad. He was part of a team of young people, from Souss and the Sahara, which founded the Issni N’Ourgh International Festival of the Amazigh film in Agadir. And since then, this Festival has continued to be a place of influence for Amazigh cinema, nationally and internationally. He was also a member of the Committee for the Autonomy of Grand Souss, created at Taynzert at Taghejjijt. As a journalist within the SNRT, Rachid Bouksim has a distinguished career and he has garnered numerous awards, such as the “Tazzla”, in the US for promoting cultural diversity, the Guido Carlity prize, in Pescara for solidarity in the Mediterranean and others, in Morocco, Algeria and France. In 2012, he was chosen by Radio MFM SOUSS, as the personality of the Amazigh year 2965. In 2015 Rachid BOUKSIM was awarded the national prize for Amazigh culture in the media category.
