Julia Palacios is a Professor at the Communications Department, and Coordinator of Internationalization, Outreach and Special Projects at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She has published extensively in the areas of Mexican pop culture, with an emphasis on history of media, entertainment, rock, pop music, and comics; and youth films of the 1950s–1960s; and the Spanish presence in Mexican film during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.

Since 1990, she has been producing and hosting multiple daily radio and television programs in different media national groups, such as TVAzteca and Núcleo Radio Mil. Since 2003, she has hosted radio programs at the Universidad Iberoamericana’s radio station: Ibero 90.9FM, and in 2004 she created her own radio show “Obladi Oblada” dedicated to classic rock.
