Visiting Research Fellowships
Primarily intended for scholars involved in humanities research projects who are not permanent employees of the University of Regina or its federated colleges,Visiting Research Fellowships are tenable for periods of six months (normally 1 January to 30 June or 1 July – 31 December) and may be renewable for a further six months upon application. Senior graduate students in the humanities engaged in a full-time program of research are also eligible to apply for these awards.
While there is no stipend provided, Visiting Research Fellows will be given office space and a computer within an academic department, some secretarial support, and library privileges, including interlibrary loan access. Modest reimbursement for eligible research costs may be provided.
During their tenure, Visiting Research Fellows are expected to offer a seminar or a public lecture, to interact with faculty and students in their area of specialization, and to be involved in HRI activities.
Candidates are requested to submit to the HRI (Four copies of all material are required):
1. A letter of application, with the applicant’s contact addresses, indicating the title of the proposed project and the period for which the Fellowship is requested.
2. A concise research plan and anticipated budget (up to two pages, double-spaced).
3. A current curriculum vitae.
4. Two confidential letters of reference, to be sent directly by the referees to the HRI Director by the deadline below.
Applications for the next competition are to be submitted to the HRI (address below) by April 9, 2012. Only complete applications will be considered.
