Subvention Awards for Publication

The HRI offers financial assistance ($1,000 maximum per publication) for the publication by faculty members or registered students at the University of Regina of refereed scholarly books or equivalent projects in the humanities.

Applicants should submit to the HRI the following (Four copies of all material are required):

1. A letter of application, including a description of the manuscript and details of all other offers of financial assistance that the applicant has applied for or received.

2. Copies of all independent referees’ reports on the submitted manuscript.

3. A copy of the letter of acceptance from the publisher, including details of the required subvention. The subvention award is intended to assist the publisher with the completion of publication-related activities, similar to the Aid To Scholarly Publishing Program offered by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS) and the publisher should outline what those activities are to be. Expenses that would normally be covered by other sorts of research support are not eligible.

4. A supporting letter from the applicant’s head of department or equivalent.

5. The applicant’s full updated c.v.

The deadline for receipt of applications to this program is October 14, 2011. Only  complete applications will be considered. Applications will be judged by the HRI Adjudication Committee. Award funds not claimed by the end of the financial year in which the award was made will revert to the HRI. All award funds not spent after two years from the date of the award will be returned to the HRI. Pleaseaddress all queries to the HRI Director.
