Student Essay Prize
All students who win HRI Student Travel Awards (STA) to present papers at refereed scholarly conferences in the humanities are automatically eligible for an annual $500 HRI Student Essay Prize (SEP) for the best paper presented in the calendar year that they traveled. Only HRI STA winners in the previous year are eligible for this Prize.
Papers should be double-spaced and may incorporate revisions of the material originally presented. If the paper has been published or accepted for publication, please indicate this in the covering letter, and include copies of supporting documentation. If the STA was for two or more papers, both may be submitted.
Papers submitted for the SEP should be accompanied by a covering letter signed by the student and containing the student’s current e-mail and street address, phone number, and the name and contact addresses of his/her supervisor or department head.
The papers will be judged by the HRI Adjudication Committee, and the winner will be announced with the other results of the next HRI funding competition.
Submit four copies of all documentation to the HRI (address below) on or before October 14, 2011. Only complete applications submitted by this deadline will be considered.
