Assistance Awards for Visiting Speakers at Conferences or Symposia

The HRI offers financial assistance (normally $1,000 maximum per conference) to help organizers of future conferences or symposia at the University of Regina bring in visiting speakers. The speaker(s) must be presenting on a humanities topic of interest to the general community, and the conference or symposium should normally take place any time in the next 12 months after the date of the competition deadline.

The conference organizer(s) should submit to the HRI the following (Four copiesof all material are required):

1. A letter of application explaining how the financial assistance is to be used, and including details of all other financial sponsorship received or applied for by the conference organizers.

2. The conference call for papers and/or proposed program.

3. The proposed speaker’s c.v.

The deadline for receipt of applications to this program is April 9, 2012. Only complete applications will be considered. All applications will be judged by the HRI Adjudication Committee. Award funds not claimed by the end of the financial year in which the award was made will revert to the HRI.
